While we've known for a little while now that Square-Enix is looking to release the reinvigorated version of their second MMORPG Final Fantasy effort, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, sometime this Summer, it looks like we won't have to wait too much longer to hear exactly when we expect the game to arrive.

With the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn nearly upon us, developer Square-Enix has brought us a new trailer for its forthcoming MMO reboot.

Set to the iconic melodies of "Terra's Theme" from Final Fantasy VI, the trailer shows off the ridable Magitek Armour that players will be able to control.

All things told, it looks pretty spectacular and adds just one more reason to get excited about the rebirth of Final Fantasy XIV.

Square Enix announces Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta date

Earlier today, Square Enix has finally revealed a date for when the first phase of the beta for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. The festivities are set to kick off on February 25th. This closely matches the road map that they posted back in December.

Alongside releasing the game's opening cinematic, Square Enix has revealed that the beta registration for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is now open.

Players hoping to get into the beta can now apply over on the official FF14 website - and this beta is open to PlayStation 3 users as well. The PC version of the beta will arrive next month.
